5 Ramuan Alami Pereda Sakit Kepala
1. Teh Jahe
Jahe dapat bekerja menghambat sintesis prostaglandin, melawan migrain. Jahe juga membantu mengatasi rasa mual yang sering menyertai migrain. Memasukkan tiga irisan jahe ke dalam sajian teh hangat bisa membantu meredakan sakit kepala atau migrain.
2. Minyak rosemary
Oleskan satu atau dua tetes minyak esensial rosemary pada dahi. Lalu, gosok dengan lembut ke beberapa bagian tubuh lain seperti perut, kepala leher dan punggung. Selanjutnya, duduk tenang selama beberapa menit tanpa aktivitas. Dalam sebuah penelitian 2010, minyak rosemary diklaim mengandung carvacrol, suatu zat yang bertindak sebagai inhibitor COX-II, seperti obat antiinflamasi.

Istirahat sejenak saat jadwal sedang padat bisa meringankan beberapa ketegangan yang menyebabkan sakit kepala. Senyawa dalam sajian teh ini membantu meringankan rasa sakit dan membuat Anda lebih rileks .

Ini berbahaya untuk kesehatan jantung dan ginjal,” kata Spesialis Gizi Klinik dari Rumah Sakit Siloam, Dr Samuel Oetoro MS, Sp.GK saat ditemui di acara Kampanye Nasional Danone Aqua, 'Mulai Hidup Sehat Dari Sekarang' di XXI Ballroom,Djakarta Theatre, Rabu 16 Maret 2011.
Seharusnya, khasiat air putih akan lebih terasa bisa dikonsumsi secara bertahap, bukan secara berlebihan atau sekaligus. Samuel menjelaskan, konsumsi air berlebih bukan bermanfaat untuk tubuh tapi justru membahayakan.
Air yang dikonsumsi akan diserap ke saluran cerna dan masuk ke pembuluh darah yang akhirnya bisa menyebabkan volume darah jadi bertambah. Hal ini bisa membebani kerja jantung dan ginjal. Jantung seolah didesak untuk memompa darah lebih cepat, sementara ginjal di desak untuk mengeluarkan cairan lebih cepat.
“Ini bisa mengganggu fungsi jantung dan ginjal. Jangan minum sekaligus berlebihan, karena air mudah diserap. Jika setiap hari hal ini dilakukan, bisa membebani jantung dan ginjal serta menyebabkan bagian tubuh tersebut mudah 'jebol',” jelas Samuel.
Untuk itu, katanya, perlu diketahui cara mengonsumsi air yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Samuel menyarankan, agar khasiatnya bisa dirasakan, konsumsi air sebelum Anda merasa haus. Setelah bangun tidur juga dianjurkan untuk mengonsumsi air putih satu gelas. Sebelum dan setelah sarapan juga dianjurkan minum segelas air putih. Begitu pula saat ingin beraktivitas serta sebelum dan setelah berolahraga. Bahkan sebelum tidur pun dianjurkan untuk mengonsumsi segelas air putih.
“Cukup minum air 1-2 gelas secara bertahap, jangan lakukan minum sebanyak 1,5 liter- 2 liter sekaligus,” katanya.

Tips bagi orang tua yang masih memerlukan botol susu untuk anaknya
1. Pilih dan gunakan botol susu bayi berbahan kaca, atau plastik jenis 4 atau 5.
2. Gunakanlah cangkir bayi berbahan stainless steel, atau plastik jenis 4 atau 5.
3. Untuk dot gunakanlah yang berbahan silikon, karena tidak akan mengeluarkan zat karsinogenik,berbeda dengan dot berbahan latex.
4. Cegah penggunaan botol susu bayi dan cangkir bayi yang mana tempat hisapnya dari berbahan jenis 7 PC (polycarbonate).
5. Jika penggunaan plastik berbahan polycarbonate tidak dapat dicegah, janganlah menyimpan air minum ataupun makanan dalam keadaan panas

Kenali Tanda Segitiga pada Botol untuk Kebaikan Bersama
Sudah Pada Tahu belum arti ANGKA pada Kemasan Botol Plastik .
Naaah. Ternyata ada RAHASIA di balik tanda-tanda itu, yang penting banget kalian ketahui.
Tanda di bawah botol itu merupakan kode yang dikeluarkan The Society of Plastic Industry pada tahun 1998 di Amerika Serikat dan diikuti oleh lembaga-lembaga pengembangan sistem kode, seperti ISO (International Organization for Standardization).
Secara umum tanda pengenal plastik tersebut berciri-ciri :
1. Berada atau terletak di bagian bawah,
2. Berbentuk segitiga,
3. Di dalam segitiga tersebut terdapat angka,
4. Serta nama jenis plastik di bawah segitiga.
Berikut arti dari istilah-istilah tersebut
Hati-hatilah dalam menggunakan plastik, khususnya kode 1, 3, 6 dan 7 (PC), sebab seluruhnya memiliki bahaya secara kimiawi. Gunakan hanya sekali pakai saja. Cukup aman bila menggunakan plastik dengan kode 2, 4, 5 dan 7 (SAN atau ABS).

1. PETE/PET.
PETE atau PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Botol jenis PETE/PET ini disarankan hanya untuk sekali pakai. Bila terlalu sering dipakai, dan digunakan untuk menyimpan air hangat apalagi panas, akan mengakibatkan lapisan polimer pada botol tersebut akan meleleh dan mengeluarkan zat karsinogenik yang bisa menyebabkan kanker dalam jangka panjang.
Bahan PETE ini berbahaya bagi pekerja yang berhubungan dengan pengolahan maupun botol daur ulang botol PETE. Pembuatan PETE menggunakan senyawa antimoni trioksida. Senyawa ini bisa masuk ke dalam tubuh melalui sistem pernapasan dengan menghirup udara. Seringnya menghirup senyawa ini bisa mengakibatkan iritasi kulit dan saluran pernapasan. Bagi wanita, senyawa ini meningkatkan masalah menstruasi dan keguguran. Bila melahirkan, anak kemungkinan besar akan mengalami pertumbuhan yang lambat hingga usia 12 bulan.
2. HDPE.
HDPE (high density polyethylene). Botol plastik jenis HDPE memiliki sifat bahan yang lebih kuat, keras, buram dan lebih tahan pada suhu tinggi. Merupakan salah satu bahan plastik yang aman untuk digunakan karena kemampuan untuk mencegah reaksi kimia antara kemasan plastik berbahan HDPE dengan makanan&minuman; yang dikemasnya. Sama seperti PETE, HDPE juga disarankan hanya untuk sekali pemakaian karena pelepasan senyawa antimoni trioksidanya meningkat seiring waktu.
3. V
Kode V,atau lebih dikenal PVC (polyvinyl chloride), yaitu jenis plastik yang paling sulit didaur ulang. Bahan ini ditemukan pada plastik pembungkus (cling wrap) dan botol. Reaksi yang terjadi antara PVC dan makanan yang dikemas dengan plastik ini berbahaya untuk ginjal, hati dan berat badan. PVC mengandung DEHA (diethylhydroxylamine) yang berbahaya bagi tubuh, biasanya bahan ini bereaksi dengan makanan yang dikemas dengan plastik berbahan PVC ini. DEHA ini bisa lumer pada suhu -15°C.
4. LDPE
LDPE (low density polyethylene) yaitu plastik tipe cokelat (thermoplastic, dibuat dari minyak bumi), biasa dipakai untuk tempat makanan, plastik kemasan, dan botol yang lembek. Sifat mekanis jenis bahan LDPE ini adalah kuat, tembus pandang, fleksibel dan permukaan agak berlemak, pada suhu 60 derajat sangat resisten terhadap reaksi kimia, daya proteksi terhadap uap air tergolong baik, bisa didaur ulang serta baik untuk barang-barang yang memerlukan fleksibelitas tapi kuat. Bahan LDPE ini sulit dihancurkan, tetapi baik untuk tempat makanan karena sulit bereaksi secara kimiawi dengan makanan yang dikemas dengan bahan ini.
5. PP
Bahan jenis PP (polypropylene) ini adalah pilihan bahan plastik terbaik, terutama untuk tempat makanan dan minuman seperti tempat menyimpan makanan, botol minum dan terpenting botol minum untuk bayi. Carilah dengan kode angka 5 bila membeli barang berbahan plastik untuk menyimpan kemasan berbagai makanan dan minuman. Polipropilen lebih kuat dan ringan dengan daya tembus uap yang rendah, ketahanan yang baik terhadap lemak, stabil terhadap suhu tinggi dan cukup mengkilap.
6. PS
Polystyrene merupakan polimer aromatik yang dapat mengeluarkan bahan styrene ke dalam makanan ketika makanan tersebut bersentuhan. Selain tempat makanan, styrene juga bisa didapatkan dari asap rokok, asap kendaraan dan bahan konstruksi gedung. Bahan ini harus dihindari, karena selain berbahaya untuk kesehatan otak, mengganggu hormon estrogen pada wanita yang berakibat pada masalah reproduksi, dan pertumbuhan dan sistem syaraf, juga karena bahan ini sulit didaur ulang. Bahan ini biasa dipakai sebagai bahan tempat makan styrofoam, tempat minum sekali pakai, dan lain-lain
7. O
Bahan untuk jenis plastik 7 Other ini ada 4 macam, yaitu:
1. SAN,styrene acrylonitrile.
2. ABS,acrylonitrile butadiene styrene.
3. PC,polycarbonate.
4. Nylon.
Dapat dtemukan pada tempat makanan dan minuman seperti botol minum olahraga, suku cadang mobil, alat rumah tangga, komputer, alat elektronik dan plastik kemasan.
SAN dan ABS memiliki resistensi yang tinggi terhadap reaksi kimia dan suhu, kekuatan, kekakuan, dan tingkat kekerasan yang telah ditingkatkan. Biasanya terdapat pada mangkuk mixer, pembungkus termos, piring, alat makan, penyaring kopi, dan sikat gigi, sedangkan ABS biasanya digunakan sebagai bahan mainan lego dan pipa. PC (Polycarbonate) dapat ditemukan pada botol susu bayi, gelas anak batita (sippy cup), botol minum polikarbonat, dan kaleng kemasan makanan dan minuman, termasuk kaleng susu formula.
SAN dan ABS dapat digunakan untuk tempat makanan. PC Dapat mengeluarkan bahan utamanya yaitu Bisphenol-A ke dalam makanan dan minuman yang berpotensi merusak sistem hormon, kromosom pada ovarium, penurunan produksi sperma, dan mengubah fungsi imunitas. Ironisnya botol susu sangat mungkin mengalami proses pemanasan, entah itu untuk tujuan sterilisasi dengan cara merebus, dipanaskan dengan microwave, atau dituangi air mendidih atau air panas.

Tips Memilih Wadah Plastik Yang Aman
Plastik sebagai wadah makanan dan minuman memang sudah biasa digunakan. Namun sebaiknya kita tidak sembarang memilih plastik sebagai wadah makanan.
Jika tidak berhati-hati, materi yang digunakan plastik akan berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan.
Plastik terdiri atas berbagai bahan kimia (monomer). Dalam kondisi tertentu, kontak antara plastik dan makanan bisa menyebabkan migrasi (perpindahan) bahan-bahan kimia dari wadah ke makanan.
Migrasi terjadi akibat pengaruh suhu panas makanan, penyimpanan, atau proses pengolahannya. Semakin tinggi suhu maka semakin tinggi kemungkinan terjadi migrasi. Lamanya waktu penyimpanan makanan juga berpengaruh terhadap perpindahan materi berbahan kimia ini.
Semakin lama kontak antara makanan dengan kemasan plastik, semakin tinggi jumlah bahan kimia yang bermigrasi ke makanan. Jika hal ini terjadi terus-menerus akan mengganggu kesehatan dan bisa meningkatkan risiko kanker.
Dr Yadi Haryadi, pakar pangan Departemen Ilmu dan Teknologi Pangan IPB, berbagi kiat mengenali plastik yang aman untuk wadah makanan dan minuman:
Memenuhi salah satu kriteria: simbol gelas dan garpu, tulisan "Food Grade", atau tulisan "Approved by FDA", sehingga dinyatakan aman untuk digunakan sebagai alat makan. KODE 4 DAN 5
*Jangan tergiur wadah yang berharga murah, tetapi memberikan resiko buruk bagi kesehatan.
*Pilih merek dagang yang sudah dipatenkan.

*Memenuhi standar mutu dan keamanan pangan dari lembaga berwenang, baik negara asal atau di Indonesia.
Kenali yang Aman
Wadah plastik yang Anda beli setidaknya memiliki salah satu tanda berikut ini:
- Ada tanda food grade, yaitu logo gelas dan garpu, artinya plastik tersebut layak dipakai untuk memproduksi perlengkapan makan.
- Ada tanda food safe, yaitu logo contreng, artinya makanan atau minuman tersebut aman tidak terkontaminasi bahan-bahan kimiawi.
- Ada tanda approved by FDA, artinya benda tersebut sudah lolos uji dan dinyatakan aman digunakan oleh FDA (Food and Drug Administration, lembaga pengawasan obat dan makanan AS).

4 Langkah Selamatkan Bumi
Ada begitu banyak cara atau langkah yang bisa kita lakukan untuk menyelamatkan bumi kita dari ulah kita sendiri (Manusia) dan semua cara itu baik namun bukanlah yang terbaik, namun sangat baik jika kita melakukan walupun hanya hal hal kevil seperi ini :
Buanglah sampah pada tempatnya
Mengubah Sampah Menjadi Pupuk Organik. Ini pekerjaan yang sebenarnya juga tidak terlalu sulit, tetapi membutuhkan prosedur agak panjang. Mulai dari memilah sampah antara yang terurai dan tidak terurai, menaruhnya di sebuah tong, menaburkan bibit pengurai, dan tunggu hingga 2-3 minggu kemudian sudah siap dijadikan pupuk.
Hemat listrik
Hemat Energi. Sederhana aja sebenarnya: matikan listrik yang tidak perlu, dan gunakan lampu hemat energi. Tidak sulit, tetapi terkadang kita berpikir toh kita-kita juga yang bayar, jadi ngapain harus hemat? Ini yang perlu sama-sama kita mengerti.
Pilih tas kain untuk belanja
Jangan Lagi Menggunakan Tas Plastik. Plastik adalah sampah yang tidak terurai. Lalu pakai apa? Banyak alternatif, yang paling mudah menggunakan tas yang terbuat dari kertas. Untuk belanja, sekarang ini hampir setiap hypermarket hingga minimarket menyediakan tas yang bisa dipakai untuk belanja berulang-ulang. Bawa tas tersebut setiap kali belanja. Menarik adalah kabar dari Pemda DKI yang dalam 1-2 tahun ke depan menginginkan Jakarta bebas dari tas plastik. Menurut saya, ini aturan yang sangat baik untuk kita dukung bersama.
Menanam pohon
Tanam Satu Pohon. Sekecil apapun tanah yang kita miliki, saatnya untuk menanam pohon, apa saja. Pohon buah adalah pilihan menarik. Kalau tidak ada tanah, tanaman buah dalam pot menjadi pilihan yang masuk akal. Pohon selain bisa melindungi dari panas, adalah sumber oksigen dan juga penyedot CO2 yang rakus agar kita bisa lebih banyak menghirup udara segar. Salah satu tanaman yang memiliki kemampuan untuk melepaskan oksigen ke udara dan menyerap karbondioksida serta memiliki kemampuan yang efektif untuk mengatasi efek rumah kaca adalah Sansevieria trifasciata atau dikenal dengan nama Lidah Mertua, Tanaman ini dapat tumbuh dengan baik di dalam ruangan. Salah satu manfaat dari tanaman ini jika ditempatkan di dalam bangunan adalah mengatasi "sick building syndrome" yaitu keadaan ruangan yang tidak sehat akibat tingginya konsentrasi gas karbondioksida, nikotin dari rokok dan penggunaan pendingin ruangan.
Manfaat lain dari tanaman ini adalah dapat mereduksi radiasi gelombang elektromagnetik yang ditimbulkan oleh komputer dan televisi.

Sejarah Earth Day atau Hari Bumi
Earth Day yang diperingati setiap tanggal 22 April diselenggarakan pertama kali pada 22 April 1970 di Amerika Serikat. Penggagasnya adalah Gaylord Nelson, seorang senator Amerika Serikat dari Wisconsin yang juga pengajar lingkungan hidup.Gagasan tentang peringatan Hari Bumi mulai disampaikan oleh Gaylord Nelson sejak tahun 1969. Saat itu Gaylord Nelson memandang perlunya isu-isu lingkungan hidup untuk masuk dalam kurikulum resmi perguruan tinggi. Gagasan ini kemudian mendapat dukungan luas.

Dukungan ini mencapai puncaknya pada tanggal 22 April 1970. Saat itu sejarah mencatat jutaan orang turun ke jalan, berdemonstrasi dan memadati Fifth Avenue di New York untuk mengecam para perusak bumi. Majalah TIME memperkirakan bahwa sekitar 20 juta manusia turun ke jalan pada 22 April 1970.
Moment ini kemudian menjadi tonggak sejarah diperingatinya sebagai Hari Bumi yang pertama kali. Tanggal 22 April juga bertepatan dengan musim semi di Northern Hemisphere (belahan bumi utara) sekaligus musim gugur di belahan bumi selatan. Sejak itu, pada tanggal 22 April setiap tahunnya Hari Bumi (Earth Day) diperingati.
Sejarah mencatat, Hari Bumi merupakan kampanye untuk mengajak orang peduli terhadap lingkungan hidup. Gerakan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan apresiasi terhadap planet yang ditinggali manusia ini yaitu bumi. Hari Bumi telah menjadi sebuah gerakan global yang mendunia hingga kini. Pelaksanaannya di seluruh dunia dikordinasi oleh Earth Day Network’s, sebuah organisasi nirlaba beraggotakan berbagai LSM di seluruh dunia.
PBB sendiri memilih tanggal 20 Maret saat di mana matahari tepat diatas khatulistiwa sebagai peringatan Hari Bumi. Ini mengacu pada ide “hari bagi orang-orang Bumi” yang dicetuskan aktivis perdamaian John McConnell. Hari yang lebih dikenal sebagai “Hari Bumi Equinoks” ini diperingati PBB setiap tahunnya sejak 21 Maret 1971. Namun PBB juga mengakui tanggal 22 April sebagai hari bumi yang dilaksanakan secara global. PBB secara resmi merayakannya 22 April sebagai “International Mother Earth Day“.

Pekerja mempersiapkan Hari Bumi pertama di markas Koalisi Aksi Lingkungan di gedung New York Theological Seminary (1970).
Menurut berbagai analisis ledakan ini muncul karena bergabungnya generasi pemrotes tahun 60-an (bagian terbesar adalah pelajar, mahasiswa, sarjana) yang terkenal sebagai motor gerakan anti-perang, pembela hak-hak sipil yang radikal. Sebuah perkimpoian antara pemberontakan 60-an dan kesadaran lingkungan tahun 60-an. Hari Bumi yang pertam ini di Amerika Serikat merupakan klimaks perjuangan gerakan lingkungan hidup tahun 60-an untuk mendesak masuk isu lingkungan sebagai agenda tetap nasional. Kini peringatan Hari Bumi telah menjadi sebuah peristiwa global. Para pelaksana peringatan HARI BUMI menyatukan diri dalam jaringan global masyarakat sipil untuk Hari Bumi yakni EARTH DAY NETWORK yang berpusat di Seattle. Bila Hari Bumi ‘70 pertama paling tidak melibatkan 20 juta manusia di AS, Hari Bumi 1990 melibatkan 200 juta manusia di seluruh dunia, maka pada Hari Bumi 2000 diperkirakan terlibat 500 juta manusia di seluruh dunia dengan jargon “making history – making change”.
